Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a captivating background to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den betting is against the law. Eight casinos are established in a relatively small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent area, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 1700, and even though visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are methods around this, as is correct of many border crossings.

The original Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau gambling hall, features 150 slots and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of 150 slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred one armed bandits and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel building that features numerous comforts in addition to the gambling den, which offers ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
